Question

What do you recommend to do for physical health? If not exercises, as is Prana Yoga, Tai Chi, Qui Gong, maybe some sort of sport?

Answer

We recommend for you to keep your body healthy and strong. If your body is healthy, then you can practice better. That's why we keep our body healthy and strong, it is important to understand that. If you have the idea that doing any kind of exercise, whether it's yoga, baseball or whatever, that that particular sport is super important in itself, then you are going to miss what we are teaching here. But to keep the body healthy and strong, that's fine, we encourage that, but not to think that the sport itself, or the exercise itself is more important than your mental growth.

As to what we recommend, it's going to be a personal thing. Some sports though are easier and less cumbersome to do, in the sense that if you think ice hockey is going to be a good sport to exercise with, well you just can't do it everywhere, and you have got to put on a lot of gear, you know it's just not that easy. Swimming on this island is easier. Swimming, walking, depending on your physical ability, it's totally personal, we would hate to say "this is the best sport for individuals." Stretching exercises though, of some nature, can be very helpful. The ones we teach are, some come from yoga exercises, some come from physiotherapy exercises, they're just simply stretching, keeping your body flexible. So that we do feel is helpful, but whether it's the type we teach here or others, that's your personal choice. We would encourage you to watch out for sports that build ego, also for exercises that build ego.
