Question

Usually as a child we can live in the present moment. But as we grow up we seem to lose this capability or capacity. Why?

Answer

Well, if you never had children or have never been around children, much of their time is not in the present moment at all. So please don't have an idealistic thought about how children act and react. But to a certain extent, one aspect that they have that's different to adults is that they don't have the responsibilities which adults have. Usually they don't have to worry about their food, their clothing, shelter, they don't have to worry about taxes, depending on what age they are they don't have to worry about relationship problems, etc. To a certain extent, they just don't have as many thoughts as all of you do. So you can understand if you are more mindful, if you reduce a lot of these thoughts, you are going to be more in the present moment.
