Attachment to the eight worldly dhammas is certainly a part of ignorance. I don't think I would really want to change this word ignorance to just attachment to the eight worldly dhammas, although probably if we let go of attachment to the eight worldly dhammas, all ignorance may well fade away, but I'm not sure.
