Question

I would like to be reminded of the definition list of Paramis.

Answer

The Ten Paramis are: Generosity, Morality, Renunciation, Wisdom, Energy, Patience, Truthfulness, Resolution/Determination, Compassionate Lovingkindness and Equanimity. Wonderful qualities that each of us are trying to develop in our practice, wherever we find ourselves. It becomes increasingly more important for lay people, who don't often have the conditions for deeper concentration and mindfulness, to understand how important the Paramis are. They can give us a deeper direction in our life, help us approach every situation, especially busy, complicated ones that lay people are usually confronted with, and help in our interaction with others. They help us see the Dukkha that often arises in the situations that are not conducive so much to calming and mindfulness. It is an opportunity for each of us to develop Patience, Equanimity, Generosity, whatever appears to be the most important at that time.
