Question

When is the passing on of Kamma, at the time of birth or at conception? What about beings that have been cloned? Is their Kamma decided before they have been conceived?

Answer

OK, I haven't got these psychic powers just yet. But as to Buddhist conception (and that's not the same conception as this sort!); but as to the Buddhist concepts, we could say, of when a being is reborn, the actual arising of the being under normal (the old fashioned) methods, it's immediately at conception. When the sperm hits the egg, they match in healthy ways, a consciousness comes, and the three come together, you have conception, you have a living being straight away. As to being cloned, I don't think the Buddha was asked that one either!
