Question

I have problems with the reflection "Actions and the Results of Actions," with the inward and outward way. If I go through my life or the lives of others and consider these events as beneficial or unbeneficial, I often cannot find a result at all, or sometimes not a beneficial result to a beneficial action or vice versa. Can you please explain how this method works exactly?

Answer

With situations where you never actually saw the result, don't use them in the meditation. This meditation is designed so that you look in the past, you see something, you do see the result, and then you compare it. It's not really designed to look at an event and find one that didn't have an obvious result. It'll just get you all confused. Just use the ones of which you do know the results.
