Question

When Buddhism refers to the ending of all Dukkha, does this include physical Dukkha? Is it possible in the human realm to be free from physical Dukkha?

Answer

When a person gets Enlightened, they enter a state of Nibbana. There's also another word, "Paranibbana". The Buddha entered Nibbana when he was thirty five and became fully Enlightened. That was the ending all mental Dukkha, but not the ending all physical Dukkha. He still had little bits of physical Dukkha later in his life. So that does not end with Enlightenment when you're still alive. The moment you die, that's the ending of all physical Dukkha also, so they give that a slightly different name, which is "Paranibbana".
