Can you please explain how to work with tranquility at home?

Tranquility, peacefulness, in order to develop more tranquility at home, we have to see how we are living, because if we are living a lifestyle that isn't conducive to tranquility, it is very difficult to have tranquility. So, a favorable environment is very helpful for developing tranquility. Perhaps the first thing I would probably do is to get rid of the TV, because when we have all these influences coming from outside, it is very difficult to develop tranquility. Having a set meditation time is very helpful for developing more tranquility at home.

We have to understand how it arises, it requires more beneficial conditions, more silence, so if you come home don't put on too much media activity. Have time where you meditate. To have a little space in the house where you only meditate, so that as soon as you see it a feeling of tranquility may arise. Having a Buddha statue is very helpful. Sometimes a bit of chanting helps with tranquility. Reflecting on the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha or quiet conversation with spiritual friends helps also with tranquility. It's difficult to have tranquility if you haven't got a conducive lifestyle for tranquility because tranquility is dependent on conditions. So you have to understand the causes and conditions that create a tranquil lifestyle.
