Question

Please how can Patience be practiced in our daily life?

Answer

(pause for about 30 seconds) Are you waiting? Same thing in your daily life as I just forced you to do then for 30 seconds. Just wait. If you want to practice patience, you have to learn how to wait. There's a little saying in English, "Patience is golden". There's also another little saying, "patience is doing something while you are waiting". There's a little trick to that, "doing something while you are waiting".

Patience is not a problem if we are not bored, if we are not frustrated, if we have no desires for the future to come. If we are actually doing something, whatever we are patient about can wait, because we are busy anyhow. It's when we don't want to wait, then there's a problem. It's when we are in a traffic jam and we are late for our job. So we're going to get yelled at by our boss, but what can we do if we're in a traffic jam. What's the problem with being patient if you've got nothing else to do. You can make yourself angry, you can make yourself worried but if you actually use the time wisely, you can reflect that nearly all traffic jams are because of one reason. - There's been an accident up ahead. Would you rather be in the front car or in your car stuck in a jam? You can ask yourself, you can reflect anytime that you find you are getting impatient, reflect wisely. Learn how to wait. It's not that hard.
