We actually plan to mention, later in this retreat, about using shorter forms of the Compassion/Lovingkindness wish. Yes, in normal life we are busy with this and that. But say we see somebody when we are passing in a bus. When we see someone in the street and we would like to give them a wish, to give the full wish as you may use here is just too long. All of a sudden, you are blocks away and the person is still back there.
So, yes, to make a shorter form with the same intention behind the words, that's quite okay. And we do plan to talk about it later in the retreat to have a short form and a long form. The longer form you use for your formal practice, and the shorter form you use constantly throughout the day, whenever you can, wherever you can. This is a very valuable thing to do so that then you don't hesitate with thinking those thoughts in normal life simply because you don't have enough time. A lot of people go, "Uh, I haven't got enough time therefore I won't do it". When you make a shorter form then you always have enough time.
