Question

Can you, please, give an example to experience the practice in daily life?

Answer

I am not quite sure what that means. Sure, practice in daily life is possible, e.g. with special mindfulness activities it's possible. It's possible with Compassion/Lovingkindness to bring it into daily life to the people that you meet throughout the day, to watch the hindrances throughout the day, to note them. The practice in retreat is very similar to the practice in everyday life, it's just a broader awareness, that is my experience.

Sometimes we have to do things in a faster mode. So it's not that we do things in a slower mode, but we speed up and have a much broader awareness. We try to keep an overall understanding of our intention behind what we do throughout our life and hopefully as we go through our life, if we are aware, we will be able to do what we call "internal/external reflection," when we become aware of the characteristics as they arise in our normal life. We may see the decay of a building, we may then reflect that "everything is subject to decay, my own body is also subject to decay," using something external to gain the understanding of the characteristics of one's own mind and body.
