Question

After death is there still Dukkha for the one who died? If there is, is it something like the hell that is taught in Christianity?

Answer

I'm not certain, but I think Buddhist philosophy teaches that there are 32 realms of existence. We have the human realm, we have the animal realm as two distinct different realms, then I think there are five hell realms and 25 heaven realms. Buddhism does have the concepts of heaven and hell, but they are not permanent. A person can go to one or the other, and they go for a certain amount of time, based on their past Kamma. Then they die from that realm and are reborn based on their past Kamma. So Buddhism does have those sorts of theories in the teachings, similar to Christians, but it is not a permanent type of hell.
