Question

How does one work to increase Wisdom?

Answer

By increasing our understanding of the Four Noble Truths and the Three Characteristics of Existence. How are we actually understanding these in our normal life and acting according to them? And ask yourself more good questions:

Are we more accepting of impermanence in our life? The impermanence of existence. Are we accepting that Dukkha exists? Or are we always thinking that we should only have pleasure arising in our life? Are we more accepting that there are things that are beyond our power to control and not within our power to change - that they are not self, not me or mine?

As our wisdom increases our acceptance of the Three Characteristics increases.

Are we more accepting that we are responsible for our own actions, speech and thoughts and it is very difficult to change others, unless they consent to be influenced. That is a big one. How many of us are trying to control the impermanent nature of existence in other people?

Are we more accepting that our Dukkha arises from to our ignorance, or are we seeking out ways to fight against our Dukkha? Can we practice the Four Noble Truths and take responsibility for our Dukkha?
