As to the basic precepts I can't answer that it would break a precept. As to basic moral issues on a deeper level it is not a wise thing to do because it is not out of compassion for either of the people, and it is not out of compassion for society. I personally have never read in the scriptures anywhere that points out prostitution as an issue, but when we look at it from a compassion point of view it is not being compassionate. It is not being compassionate for the person paying, it is not being compassionate for the person getting the money, it is not compassionate for society that has so many problems from the issue of prostitution.
