Question

What happens when you don't ask questions of your teachers?

Answer

This is according to the scriptures. The Buddha talks about the Law of Kamma. He talks about what will happen if you're very generous, in the next life you'll become rich; if you're very loving, in the next life you'll become beautiful, etc. And bear in mind, this is not just lifetime by lifetime, because, when we're generous we feel rich; when we're loving we feel beautiful.

When a person is not good looking, (in the normal sense), but they're very loving, we feel they're beautiful. So this is not just lifetime by lifetime, but moment-to-moment.

The Buddha also said, that if you have the opportunity to ask questions of your teachers, then always ask your question. If you ask your question, you are going to be reborn wise. Basically that's it. When you learn new information, you get wiser. If you have the opportunity to ask questions, and you don't, you get reborn stupid. So, a warning for the future!
