Question

Please help with examples when reflecting on wanting blame, loss, pain and obscurity?

Answer

Sometimes if a person wants fame, they'll want blame, if that's the only way they can get it. The same with loss and pain. Attachment to fame will often bring up the feeling of wanting blame, loss and pain as long as we can get attention. That's an example of those three. Obscurity, especially wanting obscurity, and not wanting fame. That's an easy one, isn't it? How many of you like to get up in front of people and say something. I know when I was in school and everyone had to give a talk, I stayed home to get out of it. Wanting obscurity. Usually because we don't want to get blame, loss or pain. So it all seems to tie in with this craving for fame or obscurity depending on one's particular tendencies. If we are wanting obscurity, we have to develop the courage to open to blame, loss and pain. As well as the other side: praise, gain and pleasure. Because we're not assured of always getting one over the other.
