There is a Sutta where the Buddha talks about things that are the best, best wealth and best this and best that. In the Sutta it says confidence is the best wealth to a person in this world. We just talked about that inner power, higher power, what happens when you are confident? Do you have power? Now I go back to the swimming analogy I gave before. There were actually two races, two big championship races where I was the person seeded first, I had the best time. I lost both of them. I was too cocky, I was too young, I didn't understand. Following those two championships there were two more big races that I had in my life and in both of them I was seeded second. I won both of those. Interesting. My attitude, my understanding was so different. I was so super confident when I got up to start those races, the two I won, that there was no way someone was going to beat me, because I was confident. When you have confidence, is that a power? Of course it is. So when you are thinking of wealth to a person, confidence is a wealth, it is a richness that if you are confident with something you can do it, you are going to go for it. That is a little of how to explain why confidence is the best wealth to a person in this world.
