Question

Is there one or more Suttas regarding the Ten Annusati in the 20 Suttas e-book by you?

Answer

I don't think so. By the way, the 20 Suttas e-book, if you're interested in reading the scriptures, I prepared this little e-book by editing some of the scriptures. The e-book contains 20 different scriptures I found that I felt would be beneficial to people who are interested to start studying the scriptures. A lot of them are very simple teachings, a lot of them are very direct. I did not translate them, so don't confuse that, I took English translations, sometimes five or six of them, I would judge which one I thought was best, I sometimes combined some to make it flow better, I tried to use modern language. That's all I would edit. After each Sutta, I mentioned a few words, I explained a few things. I didn't explain the Sutta, but I gave some suggestions to help readers look into the Sutta because the main intent of preparing those 20 Suttas was to help people who want to read Suttas.

Reading the Suttas can be difficult. They're very idealistic. When you read a lot of the Suttas it's kind of like you're looking at a skeleton, trying to see a human being. They are not very full; they are very brief. We're going to talk later, probably, about what's called the eight worldly conditions, and in some Suttas it is very clear the Buddha is talking about the eight worldly conditions. In the 20 Suttas there is one Sutta, the shortest one in there, it's clear that it's referring to the eight worldly conditions, but it never mentions the eight worldly conditions. So when I put in some notes I point out where the Sutta is going. Now, if you are interested in this, just send us an e-mail, and we'll send you a copy.

The Ten Annusati that's mentioned here, those are reflections, which include the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha, and quite a few others. I don't remember them being in any of the twenty, but that's another area for practice to investigate the Ten Annusati, and feel free to ask about them in the interviews if you're interested in them.
