Question

Can you give an example of a short Compassion/Lovingkindness meditation, like the one we can do at the beginning of every formal sitting

Answer

Take some of the words that we use or the words that you use, if you use something different and try to make it short. "May all beings overcome their Dukkha, may they all find peace", that's pretty short. Overcoming Dukkha, finding peace, those are the two important aspects. You still want to have these two aspects in there, because these two aspects represent the Compassion and the Lovingkindness. The Compassion wishes no problems, the Lovingkindness wishes happiness. So a very simple form could be, "May all beings overcome their Dukkha, may they all find peace."
