Question

Do you believe everything that is written in the scriptures?

Answer

No, and as I just said, there are some mistakes in some of the translations. So you have to use the Kalama Sutta. The Kalama Sutta is the number one Sutta, I travel with it, it's in my suitcase. I have been traveling with it since I became a Buddhist. It's the number one Sutta. Use it whenever you read anything, use it when anything else as well, but in particular with the scriptures., Don't belive it all, there are definitely mistakes in some translations, so be careful about that.

As to the majority of everything written in the scriptures that I have read, yes, I do believe most of it, because I see that it actually works, it is obviously true. But I have certainly seen a few mistakes, not many but there are a few.
