In this retreat and in formal meditation, I use a longer phrase for the Lovingkindness wish. In daily life I think this phrase is too long. Is it possible to use a shorter form like, "May you find inner Peace"?

Sometimes during a compassion/lovingkindness wish I notice a feeling of finding the exercise slightly arrogant or "overlooking" on others, wishing them to be able to learn what they wouldn’t know yet – but what we do. There must be other ways of overcoming life’s difficulties than the one we practice. Usually I go around this feeling by telling me it is not only about the technique as such, but about the way, which I wish them to find to grow beyond their limitations. Would it be better in that case to adapt slightly the wording?

I find it sometimes very difficult to make the difference between indifference and equanimity towards a difficult situation, possibly because I witness a specific situation, I am ready to help but without feeling emotionally involved. Please could you give some advice as how best to balance between the D/D Method, move the attention away from the I and Compassion/Lovingkindness for oneself, which is to focus the attention on the I. The above seen in the light of lessening the Dukkha depends on the eight worldly dhammas.

When standing in the sun I have at least two options: Savor the moment, really appreciate it, note how good it makes me feel or think of times when I was cold, think about all the people who are cold now and have Compassion for them. Is all the above considered Wise Reflection?

Regarding reflecting, is it important to always use the same Compassion/Lovingkindness wish or format, as I've been using the two I know from the 10 day retreat? I usually use the same one for each person and not vary it for the whole session. Sometimes Steve's seems more appropriate than Rosemary's or vice versa to the Dukkha contemplated. Also I should like to start using the one from this retreat.
